Troop Communication

Our troop has a number of ways of communicating, including the website, weekly announcements, Circle, the Phone Tree, the patrol system, smoke signals, facial expressions, smells, etc. We also take advantage of the latest, coolest ways that kids communicate in this day and age. Here are the current options:

Troop Email Group

We use a group email on Google Groups that is used multiple times each week for critical and timely troop information. If you subscribe to troop emails, you can also send emails to the troop. We have to limit this to registered scouts and parents only. If you are registered with this troop, you really will need to receive the emails.

To subscribe, send a request to our Webmaster webmaster@themountaintroop.org

To post to the Boys group, send email to themountaintroop@googlegroups.com

To post to the Girls group, send email to themountaintroopgirls@googlegroups.com

To unsubscribe, follow the links at the bottom of your most recent unwanted group e-mail.

There are a few rules for the email:

  1. Please use it for scout business only.
  2. Nothing inappropriate, please.
  3. Use it judiciously so we are not bombarded with troop emails.
  4. Be careful when responding to an email - Reply to All goes to the entire troop! It could be embarrassing!
  5. Read them!
