Hello Troop 737,

HEEERE WEEE GOOOOOO! It is time to start our regular meeting schedule back up. I am very excited about the upcoming year of outings and programs. I am sure you all will be also.

Today is the last day you can email Mr. Scutellaro ed@wispertel.net to get specially priced tickets for the Air Force vs. Army game on October 4th. This should be a great game at a fabulous price. See Mr. Scutellaro’s earlier email for more info.

This Friday is the Annual Parents Potluck Dinner at 6:30 at ELC. Come learn about the upcoming Troop events and how you can help out. Also get to know some of the other adults in the Troop. REMINDER: We ask that every family has at least one adult who does something for the Troop. It takes a community to run a quality scout troop like Troop 737. Yes, scouts do like to go camping and learn outdoor skills and we need people to help with those items but there are plenty of jobs that do not involve camping.

Thank you to Allan McCabe and Mike O’Connor for covering for me at last week’s PLC. I look forward to hearing what the scouts have planned for the first month of meetings.

Our first Court of Honor (COH) is September 29th. Mr. Landon, our Advancement chair, needs 2 weeks to process all rank advancements. This means that scouts will have only the next two meetings to complete their requirements for rank advancements to be included in the upcoming COH. For those scouts who need a Scoutmaster Conference and Board of Review, please email me and Mr. O’Connor mikeoconnor@journeyfoothills.com. We will try to accommodate as many scouts as possible over the next two weeks. NOTE: All merit badges earned during summer camp will be included in the COH.

As Scoutmaster of a very active troop, I am constantly being approached about our troop helping out in the community. The troop policy has been to give our Eagle projects the priority over any other service opportunities. Instead of bombarding you all with these other opportunities I will keep a list and if a scout wants to participate in a service project or he needs service hours for rank advancement, he can email me for the list.

Upcoming signup deadlines

TODAY, email Mr. Scutellaro to be included in Troop group ticket purchase.

September 15 is the last day to sign up for the Timberline District Camporee.
