Hello Troop 737,

I have a very busy weekend so I am sending this out a little early.

Thank you to Mike O’Connor for covering for me at last Monday night’s meeting. I am sorry we had the mix up and had to change locations but I heard it went well.

Parents, please come to the Parent Potluck Dinner on Sunday August 30th from 5 – 7pm at Evergreen Lutheran Church. Learn about the upcoming Troop events and how you can help out. Also get to know some of the other adults in the Troop. Michael Johnson will be providing his famous BBQ pulled pork. Please bring a salad, side dish or dessert to serve 8 – 12 people. REMINDER: We ask that every family has at least one adult who does something for the Troop. It takes a community to run a quality scout Troop. Yes, scouts do like to go camping and learn outdoor skills but there are plenty of jobs that do not involve camping. This is an adults only event. If you have to bring your kids they can sit out in another room but we will not be watching over them.

Monday night we will be doing orienteering so Scouts bring your compass and plan on being outside.

The Court of Honor is at the end of September and there are a lot scouts who have completed their requirements over the summer. Please don’t put Scoutmaster Conferences and Boards of Review off until the last minute. I will be limiting the number of Scoutmaster Conferences that can be done in one meeting so don’t miss out. There are already some scouts on the schedule. The best way to schedule Scoutmaster Conference is to send me an email. As always you will need to be in full uniform for a Scoutmaster Conference and Board of Review.

Please copy. For security reasons the information below will be gone next week.

How to get into the Troop Members only section of the website?

· Click on the Troop members only tab at the bottom of the menu on the left. You will be asked to sign in or switch accounts.

· The email is mountaintrooper@themountaintroop.org and the password is camping737.

This will give you access to the Troop roster, which includes contact information for scouts and adults, and Troop pictures from past events among other things.

8/29 Devon Thompsons Eagle Project:

All adults and older scouts,

I will be having another work day for my project on Saturday 8/29 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Food and beverages will be provided. Please bring work gloves. We will be moving large railroad ties to build the retaining wall and using power tools to keep them in place. This is why I am only asking for the older scouts and adults. I will have 1 more large work day for all scouts in September after the playground is put in place. We will need many hands at that time to move the gravel, sand and wood chips for the playground base.

Any help will be greatly appreciated,

Devon Thompson
