Greetings,

Service Patrol for November - Stags. Please show up 20 minutes early and plan on staying a bit later to help with chairs, tables, flags, etc.

Monday, November 15. 6:30, ELC. Troop Meeting - Advancement.

Saturday, November 20th. Apex Center in Arvada. Our scheduled time will be from 1:00pm-6:00pm. We will be working on the climbing merit badge as well. This mulit-use recreation and entertainment center has so much to offer to Arvada Real Estate and the entire community of Arvada. Located at 13150 W. 72nd Ave. Arvada, Colorado 80005, (303) 424-2739, the Apex Center is owned and operated by the North Jeffco Park and Recreation District. This multi-million dollar facility features a 23,000 square foot water amusement park equipped with two 150 foot tube slides, and a lap pool. We will be meeting at ELC at 12, and carpooling down and back. Sign up Monday.

Monday, November 22 - 6:30, ELC. Science Night. All scouts are asked to prepare and bring a science project. I encourage patrols to coordinate on a single really cool project. Parents are also asked to participate. PLEASE - NOTHING THAT WILL EXPLODE OR OTHERWISE CAUSE AN EVACUATION, 911 CALL, STAINED OR BURNED CARPET, OR MEMORY LOSS. We will have a guest speaker as well for a 30-45 minute presentation.

December 18-19 - Leadville Backcountry Yurt Trip. This is a 2 or 3 day backcountry high adventure (14+) trip to yurts outside Leadville at 12,000 feet. We have two yurts booked for one night. Each sleeps 5, but we can accomodate more on the floor. We are limiting this to 15 people; first come - first served. Each yurt has a wood buring stove, cooking gear, and water. It is 5 miles in and 1,100 feet elevation gain. We are inquring about snowmobiles to haul gear, but no guarentees at this time. You will need either snowshoes or X-country skis (teles, skins, etc. - I do not recommend nordic skiis) for the trip in and out and to get around while there. I can provide recommendations for rentals. We are inquring about a second night (night of the 19th) if there is interest, since the scouts will not have school the following Monday. Please let me know your thoughts. There will be a mandatory planning meeting prior to the trip. We will have a sign up sheet tomorrow night.

Upcoming activities - Check the calendar for details
