Hello Troop 737

Thanks to all the scouts who helped with the planning meeting last Saturday. We have a very exciting slate of outings for next year. Some of the highlights include: camping at the Air Force Academy and seeing a football game, survival campout, and hut or yurt trip over MLK weekend, Quinzee trip over Presidents weekend, bike trip to Fruita, a trip to La Junta to see the Indian dancers and going back to another part of UT for spring break. For high adventure, we will be going to boundary waters for a canoe trip and we are looking into the Tahosa high adventure camp. We are currently looking into a couple of instate and 2 out of state Scout camps for next summer. That decision will be made in the fall. We will be working on the calendar over the summer and it will be in place by the time school starts in August.

The scouts were very interested in doing a day rafting trip sometime this summer, probably best in June. If someone is interested in organizing a trip, please let me know. I will help where I can, but I do not have time to organize a whole trip.

Camp Dietler Parents: Good news. Mike O’Connor has stepped up to HALO this outing. He will be joined by Paul Goddard and Ray Polk who will be staying the whole week. Alexander Wood, an older scout who recently graduated from EHS, will also be helping out. Also Jeff Robertson will probably be joining the group for part of the time. If you are still interested in coming for all or part of the week you would be welcome.

There will be a parents only meeting for all Camp Dietler participants this Monday night. This is especially important for new scout parents.
